Fun Fact 1

The name Wyoming is believed to have originated from the native Dakota word "mscheweamiing" which means "large plains"

Fun Fact 2

The state flag is a field of blue, it has a red border and white border and an image centrally located. The colors are significant, the blue represents loyalty and justice, the white represents purity and honesty, the color red represents the Native Americans and blood of pioneers who battled. The image on the flag is the outline of an American Bison - found throughout Wyoming within it is displayed the state seal. The current flag was officially adopted on January 31, 1917

The Capital city of Wyoming is Cheyenne; the city is situated in Laramie County. Cheyenne is the most populous city in the state of Wyoming, but it is one of the least centrally located capitals cities in the U.S.

A brief history of Wyoming - the territory was acquired by the U.S. as part of the Louisiana Purchase in 1803; the name for the territory was adopted by 1865. Wyoming became the first territory to grant suffrage to women (allowed them the right to vote) and led the way to equally incorporate women into politics. The Union Pacific Railroad was established in 1868. Wyoming became the 44th State to be admitted to the Union on July 10, 1890

Jackson Hole was originally called Jackson's Hole, the valley is said to be named after fur-trapper David Edward "Davey" Jackson. The term "Hole" was coined by early trappers it is a descriptive word to describe the sense of entering the mountainous valleys. Today, Jackson Hole, Wyoming is a popular tourist destination; the mountains offer many adventures and opportunities to explore

The first ever U.S. national monument was designated in Wyoming! The 26th president of America, Theodore Roosevelt, declared the natural rock formation Devils Tower as the first U.S. national monument on September 24, 1906

The US Department of Commerce Census Bureau states that the Population of Wyoming in 2012 was an estimated 576,412 (Wyoming is the least populated of all the U.S. States) the figure compares to a population of 92,531 filed on census from the year 1900
